Kala's Story

Before attending Embrace Grace, I’ll be honest, I didn’t have much faith in the goodwill of others. I also struggled with social anxiety, so being in a group and sharing personal parts of my life made me uncomfortable. But after finding out I was pregnant and struggling with whether I wanted to continue my pregnancy, I knew I needed community. I walked into Embrace Grace on my first day with so much nervousness and left knowing I wasn’t alone. There were other moms walking the same path or who had walked it before me.

Each week, the group felt more like home. My kids also loved the church community. Every Wednesday, they would come home quoting Bible verses, sharing Bible stories, or singing worship songs. That meant so much to me because my dad had poured the love of God into them before he passed away. Embrace Grace became a place of healing for my children and me. They celebrated us with an incredible baby shower, helped me get into a pharmacy technician program, checked on me throughout my pregnancy, and even supported my family financially while I was on maternity leave.

I thank God for placing Embrace Grace in my path because I don’t know where I would be without a community that cared for us the way they did. The lessons and conversations poured into me, and I made new friends I now get to walk through motherhood with. Embrace Grace has blessed my family in more ways than I could have imagined, and I’m grateful to God for a community that showed us His love when we needed it most.
