Our Brave Mom was raised in a Christian home, but after losing her mom five years ago, she drifted away from her faith. She never thought she would be able to have children, so this pregnancy came as a complete surprise. While she was grateful, she also wished her mom could be here to experience this season with her.
During her baby shower, we opened with John 1:1–5:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Little did we know this was her mom’s favorite passage. Later, she shared that hearing that passage brought her peace as she remembered her mom. It was a quiet reminder that God is present in the details, often in ways we don't recognize until afterward.
Find a place of belonging in a support group for moms with unexpected pregnancies or single, young moms and dads.
